30 years VIDEORYTHMOS

In 1986, two qualified engineers of National Technical University of Athens, Thanasis Smyrlis and George Douzas, technology enthusiasts and fans of High-End, founded VIDEORYTHMOS company which was based in Kallithea of Athens.

The company has been a pioneer and innovator since its establishment until today, in all sectors of its activity.

The company started with the distribution of the most well-known High-End brands such as SME, ADCOM, ELECTROCOMPANIET, STRAIGHTWIRE, THRESHOLD, ACOUSTIC ENERGY following by a strict selection of added manufacturers MERIDIAN, QUICKSILVER AUDIO, CALIFORNIA AUDIO LABS, WADIA, STANDESIGN, POLK AUDIO, DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY, VELODYNE, DYNAVECTOR, DUNTECH, HALES, became a status of High-End market in country.

Videorythmos was the company which firstly introduced and established in Greece the HOME CINEMA applications in the early of 90s, through the use of CRT projectors, distributing and supporting the largest company of its kind, VIDIKRON.

At the same time, it was the first to present in local market, the application of DIGITAL HOME THEATER through the pioneer manufacturer of digital systems, MERIDIAN.

It was also pioneer by introducing and distributing in Greece, Audiophile LP and CD’s from all well reputated companies such as MOBILE FIDELITY, CHESKY RECORDS, SHEFFIELD, PROPRIUS, REFERENCE RECORDINGS, DMP, etc.

In addition, the company proceeded to the introduction and distribution in the territory of Greece, of the most prestigious American magazines of era, STEREOPHILE and ABSOLUTE SOUND, which was a strong distinguished support of A/V world in to local High-End community.

Meanwhile, the company, based on the expertise and technical skills of the founders, created special department for integration of professional large visual systems and similar applications, for the implementation of public and private projects. Through them, in the early 90s, it was the first and only Greek established company, whose a pioneered implementation (Athens University Medical School), was published extensively in the technical press of Japan.

The company has rapidly expanded and developed in recent decades this part of business, by having in its portfolio several major clients such as the Greek Army, Universities, Museums, Airports, Educational Centers, Hotels etc. using products like those of VIDIKRON, ELECTROHOME, EIKI, VEGA, SCREEN INT., RUSSOUND, FURMAN, SAHARA etc.

During recent years, with the recovery and restoration of analogue vinyl systems around the world market, famous and well known brands such as AUDIO-TECHNICA, REGA, MICHELL-ENGINEERING, KOETSU trusted their distribution to Videorythmos. As well as the legendary MAGNEPAN following by the fast growing GOLDENEAR, which both have swept all first awards, on every price speaker’s category worldwide.

During recent years, the company is located in a new privately owned neoclassical style building on a very central position, at 5 Panathinaikou Str. of Athens (next to Ambelokipi Metro Station), providing under one roof, independent demo rooms, training room, management offices, warehouse as well as Service-Technical Support.

We are continuing to support our goal, working under ISO certification, which is the ultimate offering quality of A/V systems in market, by improving our services, giving also a strong emphasis to after sales service.

We owe a large part of our vision implementation started 30 years ago, to our friends, partners and devoted customers, who trusted us.
